About

Michael Kaufman
Founder of Archstone and VC Beast
Michael Kaufman is a technical founder based in Los Angeles. He builds and operates a portfolio of companies across private capital software, media, healthcare, and energy, designing and shipping each product end to end.
He is the founder of Archstone, the operating system for private capital, the infrastructure that runs across venture capital, private equity, real estate, and credit, and of VC Beast, a venture capital media company and family of brands. Together they form an ecosystem for the managers who run private funds.
He is the co-founder of BettyJet, a fuel brokerage operating across Florida, and a principal at FamilyTime Centers, a Los Angeles mental health practice he helped grow from a handful of clinicians into a multi-location operation.
Kaufman works as a solo, full-stack builder, using modern tooling to design, engineer, and operate products that would traditionally take entire teams. He writes about venture capital, company building, and the rise of leverage-driven solo operators.
